In anticipation of the International Bluegrass Music Association's World of Bluegrass Week (September 26-October 2 in Nashville), the museum presents a full day of bluegrass performances and workshops, featuring top players and a salute to Bill Monroe. Organized by Jim Hurst, an IBMA Guitarist of the Year recipient, the day will alternate between performances in the museum's Ford Theater and more intimate instrument workshops in the museum's SunTrust Community Room. In addition to Hurst, performers will include Chris Jones & the Night Drivers and IBMA award-winning bassist Missy Raines and her band, the New Hip. The day honors late country radio pioneers George and Marjorie Crump. For more details and a schedule of events, visit www.countrymusichalloffame.org. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members.

Chris Jones & the Night Drivers: Chris Jones (lead vocals, guitar), Ned Luberecki (banjo), Mark Stoffel (mandolin), and Jon Weisberger (bass).

Missy Raines & the New Hip: Ethan Ballinger (mandolin), Robert Crawford (percussion), Josh Philpot (guitar), and Missy Raines (lead vocals, bass).

    Bass Workshop: Missy Raines
As one of the most award-winning bassists in the acoustic music scene today, Missy Raines is also an experienced instructor and band leader. In this listening workshop, she will share her perspective and knowledge. Questions encouraged.

    Guitar Workshop: Chris Jones
A veteran of bluegrass music as a guitar player, vocalist, songwriter, and band leader, Chris Jones will share his perspective on guitar in a listening workshop. Jones is well-rounded in his approach to guitar playing and the role of the guitar in a bluegrass band. Questions encouraged.

The educational programs of the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum are funded in part by grants from the Tennessee Art Commission and the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, through an agreement with the Tennessee Art Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
