Mickey Thomas and Friends are back for Rock Away the Blues 2011!!

Ncompass Nashville and GourmetZing Cafe are throwing the second annual Rock Away the Blues benefit concert on September 14, 2011 at Limelight! This year we are thrilled to welcome back rock legend Mickey Thomas! Mickey will be headlining with some of rock’s and blues’ best performers of all time. Benefitting Danny Gokey’s Sophia’s Heart Foundation, advance tickets are only $15, $20 at the door.

Mickey Thomas is famous for mega hits such as Jane, We Built this City, Find Your Way Back, Sara, and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now but he’s been singin’ the Blues since he was a boy growing up in Cairo, Georgia. Thomas, whose career spans 34 years and 12 albums, returns to his roots with his album, The Bluesmasters Featuring Mickey Thomas.

His latest project brings you back and back around again with the smash hit cover album Marauder.

Danny Gokey was a season eight American Idol finalist and took over with the best first-week sales showing on Country Albums by a rookie male country act in 18 years. Danny Gokey is also the an opening act on Taylor Swift’s Speak Now World Tour. Danny’s first single off his upcoming studio album “Second Hand Heart” was released to country radio August 2011.

Danny Gokey is the founder of Sophias Heart Foundation. The creation of Sophia’s Heart Foundation was inspired by the life of an extraordinary woman whose love for children overflowed and touched the lives of countless others. Sophia was a very outgoing woman who, despite her heart condition, remained full of optimism, energy, and selflessness. During her vibrant and meaningful 27 years of life, she relayed the importance of meeting the needs of children emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
