Holiday Season Art Exhibition & Sale

Metro Parks’ Centennial Art Center is hosting their annual Holiday Season Art Exhibition and Sale, November 4th through December 14th. This exhibit features works by Metro Parks’ Visual Arts staff and students, and a portion of proceeds benefits Arts in the Parks, a non-profit organization that supports Metro Parks’ Cultural Arts programs.  The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, November 5th, between 5:00pm and 7:00pm.

Metro Parks’ Visual Arts’ teachers Harry Denson, Pamela Irvin, Hazel King, Lena Lucas, Wanda McMahan, Brenda McSurley, Barbara Rembert, Joshua Wagner and Tiffany Warner will be displaying their art works alongside their students’. Also exhibiting are the Art Center’s Director, Brenda McSurley and volunteer Antwan Hamilton. A popular event, it will include drawings, paintings, pottery, sculpture and mixed media. Brenda McSurley, the Art Center’s Director, says, “Our students and staff are always excited about taking part in this exhibit. Our teachers’ skills and commitment to teaching are obvious by the outstanding works created in their classes. Each year, the public enjoys seeing this exhibit and supporting Arts in the Parks by doing some shopping! As works sell, new pieces will be added during the exhibition’s run (November 4th – December 14th), so be sure to stop in several times! Everyone is invited to attend the festive opening reception on November 5th (Friday, 5:00pm to 7:00pm) where they can see marvelous art, meet our teachers and students and have some refreshments!”
