Susan Masino will read from her book Family Traditions: Three Generations of Hank Williams released in May by Hal Leonard Publishing. A music journalist and biographer from Madison, Wisconsin, Masino goes beyond career triumphs to focus on the personal travails of Hiram "Hank" Williams, his son Randall (known as Hank Williams Jr.), and his grandson Shelton (known as Hank Williams III). As Masino illustrates, each Hank has battled personal demons while fashioning a distinctly individual form of country music. Followed by a signing in the Museum Store. Offered in support of the exhibit Family Tradition: The Williams Family Legacy, Presented by SunTrust. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members and to AMA conference registrants with badges.
