    Robbie Prepas, CNM, MN, JD, has been involved in international midwifery for more than 20 years working in Asia, Africa, South America and Russia. She has consulted for the Center for Disease Control in Afghanistan for a maternal and child health survival project. She worked with disaster relief efforts at Ground Zero in New York City, in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, and in Guam. Her Disaster Medical Assistance Team was the first to respond in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Prepas initiated a Committee for Disaster Preparedness for the American College of Nurse Midwives and is an adjunct professor of midwifery at the University of California at Los Angeles.
