An Evening of Poetry ft. Houston Hughes

Houston Hughes is a nationally recognized touring poet, a finalist in the 2010 Individual World Poetry Slam and a College Union Poetry Slam Region Champion. He lives and breathes poetry, and it is evident when he performs.

The evening will also feature an open mic, followed by a two round poetry slam competition. If you wish to compete, simply arrive early and sign up between 8:30pm and 9:00pm. You will be competing with members of Murfreesboro's Word Up poetry collective and Nashville's very own Vandy Spoken Word. Every poet should prepare two poems for the slam.

Musical guests include Bobby Exodus, Peter Matteson, and Mandy Cook.

This is an ALL AGES show.
