    Nine48jazz's vision is to become an intimate venue in the Nashville jazz community by allowing jazz musicians a place to perform original compositions, along with well-known American jazz standards. Aspiring artists will find an oasis of appreciation, respect and recognition as gifted musicians on the city’s music landscape. Nine48jazz will welcome local and national musicians, first-timers and veterans, to showcase their individual artistry with as much passion as they can demonstrate with each performance. At Nine48jazz, everyone is a headliner! Nine48jazz was created as a memorial to the late pioneer restaurateur, Charles H. Dungey, Sr., owner of the legendary restaurant, Deborah's; and to his son, the late master jazz bassist and vocalist, Charles H. Dungey, Jr.

    Nine48jazz presents a new monthly event for 2011.  Beginning in January, "Deep Groove Sunday" features local jazz artists with a groove so deep it'll get you "right" for the week ahead!  This month features John Birdsong.
