MTSU Blue Raiders Basketball vs South Alabama

The Middle Tennessee men's basketball team will tackle another rigorous slate of opponents in the 2011-12 season. The Blue Raiders match up against six teams from the 2011 NCAA Championship field and will have 15 home games. Come support the MTSU Blue Raiders as they take play South Alabama!

Children and adults living with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes will be honored on Saturday, December 31st as part of the MTSU home game double-header taking place at Murphy Center on the MTSU Campus. Those with diabetes will be admitted for free and friends and families for just $5.00. The Blue Raiders take on South Alabama with the ladies team starting at 12 noon and the men’s game at 2:30 pm.

During half-time of the men’s game one person will be drawn randomly to shoot a basketball from half-court and have the chance to win a car! To register for the car shoot-out you must register in advance at Miracle Ford in Gallatin or Al White Motors in Manchester. Those with type 1 diabetes will recognized during the festivities and participate in the “high-five tunnel” when the men’s team enters the court.

Type 1 diabetes (formerly known as juvenile diabetes) is an auto-immune disease that strikes children and young healthy adults suddenly, attacking the pancreas, and makes them insulin dependent for life. They must endure multiple finger sticks to check blood sugar levels and take several injections of insulin throughout the day.
