Watkins College of Art, Design & Film is extending "Encoded Structures: Interpreting the Story," through Tuesday, November 8, in the Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Gallery on campus. The juried book arts exhibition was mounted in conjunction with the inaugural Handmade & Bound Nashville, a free book arts festival which was held Sept. 30 – Oct. 1.

"Encoded Structures" presents more than 30 book works and small press publications in the form of artists’ books, zines and sculptural books. First prize in the juried exhibition was awarded to Susan Lowdermilk of Eugene, Oregon (A Ritual To Read To Each Other), followed by second-place winner Nanette Wylde of Redwood City, California (Hello Catty), and third-place winner Lesley Patterson-Marx of Nashville (The World Is, I Am).
