Chet Atkins said that Richard Smith is “the most amazing guy I know on the guitar. He can play anything I know, only better.” A member of the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame, Smith frequently collaborated with Mr. Guitar. He was the National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion in 2001, and was elected as Thumbpicker of the Year in 2008. Offered as part of the special exhibition Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player, Made Possible Through the Generous Support of the Gretsch Company.
