December 3, 2011
Add Review/Comment
Folk duo Carolina Story celebrates the release of their recent album, Home, with a CD release show at the Family Wash Saturday, December 3, 9:30 p.m. The celebration will feature the musical stylings of the East Nashville couple as well as opening act Humming House– whose folk, blues, and bluegrass backings may be heard throughout the new album. This event is first come, first served with a $5 ticket charge at the door. The Family Wash is located at 2038 Greenwood Avenue in East Nashville.
Carolina Story is comprised of husband and wife team, Emily and Ben Roberts. The couple met while studying music at Visible Music College in Memphis, Tenn. before marrying and moving to East Nashville. As homage to their new found love for their new community, Carolina Story reached out to many of their East Nashville resources to create Home. With the album being produced at The Toaster (Humming House front man Justin Wade’s East Nashville studio), images within the album shot at Wonders of Woodland, and cover artwork by East Nashville resident and local artist Emily Harper Beard, deciding to celebrate the launch of their most recent CD at the Family Wash was a deliberate next step in their creative process.
In addition to the show at the Family Wash, Carolina Story will perform a series of house concerts the evenings leading up to the release of Home. The first of the two house shows will be at a home in East Nashville while the second performance will reach a Kingston Springs audience.
