When Cole Slivka began hosting Shortsets at Bean Central 10 years ago, non-country songwriter nights were still few and far between. After a 2003 move to the Family Wash, the Tuesday-night Shortsets quickly became an institution, drawing steady crowds, crowds that swelled even larger when the Wash instituted Tuesday Pint & Pie night, featuring the cozy East Nashville pub's popular shepherd's pie and a pint of beer for a mere $10.
