Don Schlitz wrote a song called "The Gambler" long ago, a song that possesses what may be the most-quoted chorus in American song. "The Gambler" was Schlitz's first hit as a songwriter, and had he never written another tune then that one would likely have landed him in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. (He’s there.) But Schlitz didn’t stop, penning "On The Other Hand," “Forever and Ever, Amen”, "I Take My Chances," "The Greatest," "When You Say Nothing At All", and hundreds of other songs (including 24 #1’s and 50 Top 10’s.) He’s won Grammys, CMA, and ACM awards and moved beyond the radio, as the sole composer and lyricist of Broadway's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. A four-time ASCAP Songwriter of the Year, Don received the ASCAP Creative Achievement Award in 2007 and the Academy of Country Music’s Poet’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2009. He was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2010.

These days, he’s delighting audiences across America with his songs, his smile, and his irrepressible wit. And yes, he’s still writing.

More information about Don, along with videos, photographs, songs, touring schedule, and product links can be found at www.donschlitz.com.
