Add Review/Comment
Named last year to Billboard's Top 30 Women in the Music Business, Sarah Trahern is general manager and senior vice president at cable network GAC: Great American Country. Her mother played classical viola, while her father took her to bluegrass festivals, and Trahern became proficient on the banjo as a teenager. After a stint at C-SPAN, where she produced the critically acclaimed Booknotes series, she came to Nashville in 1995, to work at TNN: The Nashville Network. She joined GAC in 2005. Among Trahern's notable productions are the Johnny Cash memorial service, the Opry at Carnegie Hall, Country at the White House, and the live telethon Music City Keep on Playin'. Trahern is also the newly elected board chairman of the Academy of Country Music. This interview will be illustrated with multimedia elements from the museum's archives. The Louise Scruggs Memorial Forum, made possible by the Gibson Foundation, is presented annually to honor a music industry leader who continues the legacy of pioneer Louise Scruggs. Free and open to the public.
