Shabbos With Rami

In a world ever-more focused on and fearful about work, the idea of Shabbos, the Sabbath, a day of rest, prayer, study, and play, when living is celebrated rather than earned, becomes all the more important.

As an antidote to fear and scarcity, Shabbos provides us with a day of joy and abundance.

Beginning at sundown Friday and ending Saturday evening, Shabbos with Rami draws on the wisdom of the Jewish Shabbat - Bible study, chanting, prayer, singing, storytelling, and food to encourage us in our own Sabbath making: carving out time to free ourselves from work and for joy.

Led by Rabbi Rami, Director of Wisdom House at Scarritt-Bennett, and aided by Cantorial Soloist Dorit Kosmin, Jewish educator, Judy Gordon, artist Kaaren Engel, and others, the retreat will draw upon Judaism’s 4000 year-long love affair with Shabbos, to help you enter the holiness of the day.

The retreat is open to all faiths and people wanting to experience this custom from the Jewish faith tradition.
