Laura Reed is a truely authentic musical experience, from her sultry 'Hello, my name is Laura Reed...' to the final note of the evening. Laura has been steadily making a name for herself internationally with her sincerely soulful vocals, songwriting, and electric performances. Over the years Laura has written and performed with a vast array of artists from George Clinton to Peter Rowan, and is cur...rently working on her solo album with Grammy award winning producer/songwriter Shannon Sanders, best known for his work with Neo-soul artist India Arie.

From a young age Laura has been a traveling songstress, her road began in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she was born and lived her early childhood before moving to North Carolina and growing up in the American South. Laura's music and personality have been shaped by these varied backgrounds, and her extensive travels worldwide. She speaks and sings in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and sometimes even Zulu. If you are able to catch her live you might see her samba, two-step, and jump off a speaker as she allows herself to be uninhibited and take performance to another level with the crowd.

Laura started performing at a young age at open mics and as a street musician in Boone, NC. She was known for years as the front woman of the Asheville, North Carolina based group "Laura Reed & Deep Pocket", and honed her chops as a performer and musician in these years. Since the Deep Pocket days she has been gathering valuable experience as a session artist, solo performer, and songwriter, currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a breath of fresh air for those who appreciate soul in music and will continue to bloom on her path as an artist and performer.
