Add Review/Comment
On December 17, The Carter House and Carnton Plantation will offer tours at 6:00pm and 7:00pm to commemorate the march of the Confederate army to Franklin following the Battle of Nashville, which took place in December of 1864. Author and Battle of Franklin Trust Chief Operating Officer Eric Jacobson, along with Rob Cross, John Marler, and Derek Peck, will conduct the tours "The Night the Confederacy Died in Tennessee."
Each tour will last approximately 45 minutes to ensure visitors are able to visit both historic sites. The tours will explain what happened that night in Franklin and how it impacted both the town and the Carter and McGavock families.
This is the first time these specialized tours have ever been offered by the Battle of Franklin Trust. The price for admission is $15 per person per site and no one under the age of 10 will be admitted. Each tour at The Carter House will be limited to 20 people and each tour at Carnton Plantation will be limited to 25 people. Reservations are required. Contact Leigh Bawcom at leigh@battleoffranklintrust.org or at (615) 794-0903 for more information or to make a reservation.
