Open Discussion about “Applying to Juried Art Shows & Online Applications”
January 11, 2012
The Arts Council of Williamson County’s ‘Brown Bag Lunch Bunch’ has an open panel discussion planned for their January meeting. The topic will be “Applying to Juried Art Shows & Online Applications”.
Deborah Gall, painter and gallery owner of Abide Studio, along with Linda McLaughlin, glass artist/jewelry design and owner of Glass Act, will speak on completing applications for juried art shows and specifically using Zapplication (an online application system). Gall and McLaughlin will answer questions regarding how to write a concise artist statement, what artwork to present in an application, what makes a good booth image, how to select and prepare images for digital applications and any other art show questions guests may have.
Attending this Lunch Bunch will leave plenty of time for artists to apply to the Arts Council’s artfusion 2012. The application deadline for artfusion 2012 is January 20. Artfusion is quickly becoming Williamson County's premier juried art show. The 6th annual artfusion show will be held indoors, June 8th, 9th and 10th, in the Commons Area and Jamison Hall of the historic Factory at Franklin, Franklin,TN.
Grab your lunch and join the Art’s Council for a lunchtime of artistic fun and camaraderie. Guests are invited to bring a piece of their own artwork to share with the group. The Arts Council’s ‘Brown Bag Lunch Bunch’ meets 2nd Friday of most months. Open to the public and no charge to attend. For more information, visit www.artscouncilwc.org, or call 428-3845
