Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Robert Massie, will discuss his new biography, Catherine the Great, Portrait of a Woman (Nov 2011). A book signing will follow the talk.

 

It’s been 30 years since Massie’s last major biography of a Russian leader, and years of research have gone into the mammoth task of recreating Catherine the Great’s remarkable life—a life of coups, plots, murders, regicide; of lovers, affairs, marital neglect; of intersections with Voltaire, Diderot, Mozart, Frederick the Great, Potemkin and dozens of other remarkable figures.
