With a family history deeply rooted in country music, 20-year old Curb Records recording artist, Dylan Robinson, is finding his own way while following in the footsteps of several generations of gospel music artists and talented musicians. Through his immense vocal talent, the budding country star communicates with a depth and wisdom beyond his years, and his deep, soulful voice reaches audiences both young and old.
Born and raised in northeast Louisiana, Dylan was surrounded by music for as long as he can remember. He was only two years old when his father, a guitarist for country legend, Freddy Hart, realized he could sing on key and taught him, “Do Lord.” Dylan could barely reach the keys on the piano when his aunt, who played with such gospel quartets as the Blackwood Brothers and the Spear Family, taught him to play. Dylan also remembers gatherings on Sunday afternoons with his grandfather, an accomplished pedal-steel player, listening to his family pick on the porch after church.
Inspired by such country legends as Keith Whitley, George Strait and Alan Jackson, straight ahead country was the music of choice for young Dylan. At age 12, Dylan mastered the acoustic guitar. Through his teen years, he continued to sing, and while in high school formed the gospel trio, The Eleventh Hour. The trio became immensely popular and traveled throughout the south playing churches and festivals. Dylan eventually decided to leave the trio and try it alone.
As a solo performer, Dylan played the prestigious Louisiana Hayride, entered a number of regional contests, and won the local final for the Colgate Country Music Showdown. In 2009, Dylan submitted a video demo and won the Neal McCoy East Texas Angel Network Talent Contest. Shortly thereafter a demo recording caught the ear of Nashville Manager, Howard Fields, and Dreamcatcher Management. Subsequently, Dylan’s dream of getting a recording deal quickly materialized in the form of a record deal with Curb Records.
These days, when not performing or writing songs, Dylan’s second love is spending time outdoors. He enjoys four-wheeling, fishing, hunting and just about every other outdoor activity he can squeeze in.
