"Make Life Better" Week

Regions Bank is taking financial education out of the bank and into the community with a week of courses for kids, adults and entrepreneurs during “Make Life Better Week.” Beginning January 28, Regions associates will visit various schools and community centers throughout the region, hosting and participating in events covering a range of topics including basic financial literacy, becoming a homeowner and the financial aspects of small business.
“Make Life Better Week” is a Midsouth initiative of Regions Bank, with events in 20 counties and 56 associates from 34 Regions branches in Middle Tennessee volunteering their time to teach the importance of understanding finances.
“Whether personal or business finances, managing money is a constant challenge for many people. Our goal during ‘Make Life Better Week’ is to provide support to people in the community and teach our kids the value of financial education,” said Keith Herron, Midsouth Regional President of Regions Bank. “If we can help people understand how to manage their money more successfully, we can help make their lives a little bit better.”
Residents in Davidson County will enjoy the following events and seminars:
Saturday, Jan. 28: Latrisha Jemison, Senior Vice President and Regional Community Affairs Manager for the bank, and Frank Reed, Mortgage Loan Originator, will lead a public seminar titled, “Introduction to Homeownership,” at the Church of the Messiah at 10:00am'
Monday, Jan. 30; Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Friday, Feb. 3: The bank will partner with the PENCIL Foundation’s “Jobs for Tennessee Graduates” program to teach money skills to students at Hunters Lane High School.
Monday, Jan. 30 - Friday, Feb. 3: Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee and Regions will address classes at Crieve Hall Elementary School, Carter-Lawrence Elementary School, Andrew Jackson Elementary School, Antioch High School and Glencliff High School about economics, entrepreneurship and personal finance.
Monday, Jan. 30 – Saturday, Feb. 4: Regions associates will assist with the United Way’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program at Woodbine Community Organization daily.
Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Thursday, Feb. 2: Regions associates will visit children at the Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity to teach a special “Finance for Kids” class at 5 p.m. on Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.
Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Thursday, Feb. 2: The bank will partner with the PENCIL Foundation’s “Jobs for Tennessee Graduates” program to teach money skills to students at Antioch High School.
Tuesday, Jan. 31: Regions associates will discuss the importance of financial responsibility with participants of Goodwill’s Job Readiness Program.
Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Friday, Feb. 3: The bank will partner with the PENCIL Foundation’s “Jobs for Tennessee Graduates” program to teach money skills to students at McGavock High School.
Friday, Feb. 3: Regions Bank and The Nashville Pride will kick off Black History Month by inviting small business owners to participate in a seminar led by a panel of Regions associates and accountant Ernest Howard who will be discussing basic business practices. The event is geared toward minority small business owners and will take place at Regions Center from 8:00am-11:00am.
Monday, Feb. 6; Wednesday Feb. 8 and Friday, Feb. 10: Regions will partner with the PENCIL Foundation’s “Jobs for Tennessee Graduates” program to teach money skills to students at Maplewood High School.
