Phil O’Donnell, a Canada native, made his first trip to Nashville in 1983 and began developing his skills as a songwriter. Officially making the move in 1994, O’Donnell has also worked as a musician, playing guitar with many artists including Craig Morgan, Kevin Denney, Johnny Lee, and Sherrie Austin. O’Donnell’s songwriting credits include his first 1 single, “Back When I Knew It All” recorded by Montgomery Gentry, “Love Remembers” and “I Got You” (Craig Morgan), “Tougher Than Nails” (Joe Diffie), and “Fore She Was Mama (Clay Walker). In addition to having a successful career as a songwriter, O’Donnell also serves as producer for artists such as Craig Morgan, Justin McBride, Tara Oram, Jason Blaine and Darren Kozelsky.
Kendal Marvel has written songs recorded by Gary Allan, Trace Adkins, Josh Turner, Travis Tritt, Blake Shelton, Lee Ann Womack, Jamey Johnson, Jake Owen, Joe Diffie, and a few others. I've been lucky enough to have a couple big ones, "Right Where I Need to Be" by Gary Allan, "Tougher Than Nails" by Joe Diffie, "Yee Haw," "Startin With Me," and "Don't Think I Can't Love You," by Jake Owen.
After moving to Nashville in 1991, taking jobs at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Bluebird Cafe, Casey Beathard began singing demo's for Hall of Fame writer Don Schlitz, among others, while continuing to play "live" at any "open mic" and for anyone else who would listen. "My goal, at first, was to be a Super Star Artist, but when Kenny Chesney, Gary Allan, and Tracy Byrd began recording my songs, I realized my true destiny." Casey said. In 1997 Casey signed a Publishing deal with Acuff Rose, now Sony Tree/ATV, and has been with them ever since. He has had recordings by most of the "mainstream" Artists out there, and has had hits on such Artists as: George Straight - "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls"; Kenny Chesney - "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems" & "Don't Blink"; Tracy Lawrence - "Find Out Who Your Friends Are"; Trace Adkins - "Hot Mama" & "All I Ask For Anymore"; Tim McGraw - "Do You Want Fries With That"; Billy Currington - "I Got A Feeling" & "Walk A Little Straighter" and others! Casey has since become BMI's 2004 & 2008 songwriter of the year and NSAI's 2008 songwriter of the year.
