Celebrating National Poetry Month and the exhibition To See as Artists See: American Art from The Phillips Collection, nationally and locally known poets will read poems by American poets from the late nineteenth century through the twentieth century. The poets will select poems that reflect the exhibition themes and illuminate one or two art works in the exhibition. Come along and find out if your favorite poem will be read aloud.

After Poetry Aloud, meet Mark Jarman in the Gift Shop. There, he will be signing copies of his book Bone Fires: New and Selected Poems. The book charts over thirty years of poetry and begins with a selection of new poems including the book’s namesake, “Bone Fires.”
