    The Nashville Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds and awareness to support the fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease.

    Each year, millions of dollars are raised through the national Walk to Defeat ALS network. Since the inception of the Walk program in 2000, $117 million has been raised for the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Annual revenue raised through the Walk represents a significant portion of our chapter’s operational budget and supports the following programs on a national and local level:

    • Support of nationally directed ALS research
    • Patient grant programs (respite care, augmentative communication & transportation)
    • Support Groups
    • Equipment loan program
    • Programs designed to provide information and support for caregivers and family members
    • Provide contact information for ALS clinics and physicians
    • Year round advocacy or government relations by representing the needs of patients and families
    • Additional programs and services vary by Chapter
