The fateful day is upon us, y'all. Record Store Day is SATURDAY, April 21st. We hope you'll choose to spend the day or some portion of it with us at Grimey's. We've cooked up a very fun day to entice you out. Here's how it will go down:

We open at 10am. The line to get all those exciting Record Store Day releases will form at the back parking lot (just like last year for you repeat customers). We realize that there are tons of unofficial and regional releases coming out also that are not on the list and we've ordered everything that was offered to us. All RSD releases are first-come, first-served and limited to one per customer. No holds, preorders or mail orders. You gotta be in it to win it.

We will also have a FREE All-Day CONCERT FESTIVAL in the back parking lot. Here is the lineup of performers:

In conjunction with the Nashville Film Festival we'll be screening 3 independent music films in the Basement during the day:

1:00 - Don't Follow Me I'm Lost (a film about Bobby Bare Jr.)
2:45 - Andrew Bird FEVER YEAR (a feature length concert documentary film)
4:30 - Brick And Mortar And Love (a documentary film about indie record stores with some footage shot at Grimey's from last year's Record Store Day).

Add to that thousands and thousands of super cheap LPs and CDs in the back parking lot, everything in the store ON SALE (excepting the RSD releases, of course), eats from the Mas Tacos food truck, craft brews from the Yazoo beer truck, our friends from Griffin Technology with their Record Store Day iPhone cases, free prizes and give-aways, tons of enter-to-win contests for free concert tickets and you've got a party! We hope to see you here this Saturday.

Yeasayer is coming to the Cannery Ballroom on Friday, June 22nd and you could win a free pair of tickets to the show. Just come in and register. Why not do it on Record Store Day?! Also don't forget about our Jack White "Blunderbuss" listening party this Thursday, April 19 at 6PM. We just received a VINYL TEST PRESSING of the record. We're gonna play that bad boy at the party and then give it away to a lucky attendee!

Even with all the madness to ensue this weekend, some record labels still decided to release new albums today including freshies from Spiritualized, Butterfly Boucher, Maps & Atlases, Jason Mraz, Horse Feathers, Yann Teirsen, remix collections from Grinderman & Battles, new ones from Gaddabouts, JD McPherson, a live collection from Jack Johnson and a best of from Hank III, the soundtrack to the much-anticipated new documentary on Bob Marley, new 7"s from Guided By Voices and The Coathangers, vinyl reissues from Operation Ivy and tons more, all detailed below.
