Mayor Karl Dean today announced he will host reunion walks for his popular Walk 100 Miles with the Mayor healthy living campaign. The walks will be held every Saturday in June at various parks, greenways and cultural institutions around Nashville.

Some 4,000 individuals participated in the Walk 100 challenge last year and together logged more than 100,000 miles. Since then, more Nashvillians joined the push for healthy living, with 5,000 people entering the Mayor’s Challenge 5K Walk/Run and 3,300 attendees celebrating fun ways to exercise at Mayor’s Field Day earlier this month.

The community’s resolve to be more active and live healthier has attracted national attention. CBS This Morning and HBO’s The Weight of the Nation both spotlighted Mayor Dean’s efforts to curb obesity and host exercise programs that promote Nashville’s extensive network of parks, greenways, bike routes and sidewalks.

“Nashville is fast becoming a national leader in the fight against obesity, and in the process, we are making our individual lives better,” Dean said. “These reunion walks are not just an opportunity to continue walking together to send the message that exercise is an important part of our lives but also a chance to see friends we met during last year’s walks and celebrate our community’s commitment to active, healthier living.”

Here is a complete list of the reunion walks being led by Mayor Dean:
