Trail of Tears Memorial Motorcycle Ride, Re-enactment Walk & Indian Social

The Indian Festival will help you understand how they lived life and share their traditions, such as food, music and dancing. Each year, we come together to remember the detachments that passed through Giles County. A miserable journey for the Cherokee, they endured inclement weather, inadequate food, water, and improper clothing. We seek to honor their memory by remembering their journey through this area.

We invite the public and schools to attend. There will be vendors that will demonstrate and sell a variety of crafts and teach a few techniques. These will include: drums, flutes, jewelry makers, blacksmiths, native foods, flintknappers, dancers and much more.

The Re-enactment Walk begins at the Trail of Tears Interpretive Center & Memorial Park (College St./Stadium St.) with the drum of “Memez Boyz”. They will perform the ‘Honor Song’ at the Trail of Tears Overlook, where both trails crossed.

Come take a fall ride along the picturesque road to remember the Native Americans who were forced to walk the ‘Bell’s & Benge’s “TRAIL OF TEARS” routes through Giles County, Tennessee. Riders are encouraged to PRE-REGISTER! RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Upon registration for the ride, you’ll be given a name representing the “Head of Family” that walked the Benge Route and you will be riding in memory of that Family Group.
