LATIN ENSEMBLE TO CELEBRATE COLOMBIA’S INDEPENDENCE DAY AT POPULAR NASHVILLE RESTAURANT

NASHVILLE, JUNE 21, 2012: Friday, July 20, get ready to don your red, yellow, and blue, and celebrate the heritage and culture of Colombia Independence Day with the Serenatta Romantic Latin Ensemble at Tequila’s Mexican Restaurant in Nashville.

Says Pablo Garzon, a Colombia native and leader of the band, “Nashville does not have a true Colombia restaurant, but on this night Tequila’s will serve ‘empanadas’, which is a typical Colombia food, along with other traditional dishes, all set to sounds from the only romantic Latin ensemble in Nashville. That way, everyone can enjoy a taste of this colorful South American country.”

“We really hope that folks who come to hear us at Tequila’s will enjoy dancing to our performance of cumbias, bambucos, pasillos, and other Colombian rhythms.” Garzon promises to provide listeners with lyrics of authentic songs to be performed by the group to encourage sing-a-longs during the Colombia Independence Day celebration at Tequila’s.

The Serenatta Romantic Latin Ensemble is made up of nine American musicians and one Mexican singer, who specialize in musical stylings from many Latin Countries, and especially from Colombia. Member Joey Butler, guitarist, is the first and only American musician in Nashville who has written music based on Colombia’s rhythms, with two cumbias (a fusion of African and Spanish music made popular during colonial times which originated in Colombia’s Caribbean coastal region) and one pasaje-pasillo to his credit.

Tequila’s Mexican Restaurant is located at 3736 Annex Avenue (at the Charlotte Center off Charlotte Avenue near Costco and the bowling alley.) The Serenatta Romantic Latin Ensemble will perform from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. There is no cover charge for this special event.
