    Oktoberfest: Nashville's Original German Festival

    Nashville’s historic Germantown is gearing up for the 33rd Annual Oktoberfest Celebration to take place on Saturday, October 13. The city’s original and longest running cultural festival will again entertain, regale, and delight thousands from around the region with its unique brand of traditional German revelry.     Nashville’s historic Germantown is gearing up for the 33rd Annual Oktoberfest Celebration to take place on Saturday, October 13. The city’s original and longest running cultural festival will again entertain, regale, and delight thousands from around the region with its unique brand of traditional German revelry. This colorful, family friendly, autumn festival attracts over 30,000 guests.

    Oktoberfest 2012 will feature:

    • Funland – A FREE children’s activity area featuring games, pony rides, face painting, clowns, Conductor Jack and his Musical Review and more.
    • Live German music, four musical stages and street performers: Die Musik Meisters, Alpine Mountain Band, Steff Mahan Band, Barry Jobe,The O’Donnell’s, Jessica Miller, Melissa Brett, Chad Trout, Ted Guillaum and more;
    • Arts, crafts, antique and specialty booths;
    • Authentic German food and beverages;
    • Variety of specialty foods and delicious home baked goods;
    • Community wide morning worship services at the two historic sponsoring churches;
    • Tour of Germantown’s historic and unique churches.
    • Historic Germantown exhibits;
    • Reminiscing with old friends and meeting new ones;
    • Free admission;
    • Free parking; and more

    Hosted by the Church of the Assumption & Monroe Street United Methodist Church. Oktoberfest is a not-for-profit organization. Proceeds go to the continuing restoration of historic Assumption Catholic Church and Monroe Street United Methodist Church, and continuing outreach programs for the needy.
