Prepare to immerse yourself in an authentic Muscle Shoals Music experience featuring a soul-stirring performance by R&B icon Percy Sledge accompanied by a world-class lineup of musicians. Sledge’s smash hit “When A Man Loves A Woman” catapulted him to the top of the charts in the late '60s. Delivered with his unique caliber of gut-wrenching passion, the song became an enduring classic which still inspires standing ovations at venues all over the world. “Take Time To Know Her,” “Warm and Tender Love” and “I’ll Be Your Everything” were among a host of other songs that contributed to his iconic status.

His stage band for the Franklin Theatre will include a number of legendary Muscle Shoals musicians including:

    • Bassist David Hood from the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (aka “The Swampers”)
    • Charles Rose and Harvey Thompson from the Muscle Shoals Horns
    • The Decoys featuring Scott Boyer, Kelvin Holly, N.C. Thurman and Mike Currington

Selected artifacts from the Alabama Music Hall of Fame Museum will be on display in the Franklin Theatre Lobby on the evening of the performance. Because this is such a significant musical happening, it will be webcasted live from the Franklin Theatre by Big River Broadcasting for the benefit of R&B fans all over the globe.
