The Sideshow Fringe Festival, Nashville’s Progressive Performing Arts Event, is a 4-day celebration featuring theatre and related live presentations with an emphasis on original and innovative pieces. Dance, music, puppetry, aerial arts, juggling, poetry, and more is showcased in a multi-venue setting with free outdoor events and family friendly offerings.

Hamlet with Amanda Card-McCoy: Hamlet will be adapted in such a way that five actors will be able to play all of the roles. There will be no sets, a limited number of props, and each actor (with the exception of Hamlet) will play more than one role. Shakespeare's actors, while there were much more than five of them, worked in this way - the Globe was their stage (and their set), the sun was their lighting designer, their costumes were the fashion of the time, and their props were limited. This focus on the poetry, rather than production elements, makes Shakespeare's work clear and powerful. What a fun challenge for an actor to play both Gertrude AND Ophelia, Claudius AND Hamlet's Ghost, Rosencrantz AND Guildenstern! Shakespeare's work is the most fulfilling, most rewarding work any actor can take on, and what a wonderful opportunity to stretch every acting muscle you have - your brain, your body, your character choices!
