    In Laud of Claude: 150th Birthday Concert for Claude Debussy

    Blair kicks off its 2012-13 concert season with a piano music gala in honor of the 150th birthday of Claude Debussy. Under the organization of dauntless pianist Craig Nies, Blair piano students from both the collegiate and precollege programs will perform solo piano works and duos that will include voice, clarinet and flute.

    Blair kicks off its 2012-13 concert season with a piano music gala in honor of the 150th birthday of Claude Debussy. Under the organization of dauntless pianist Craig Nies, Blair piano students from both the collegiate and precollege programs will perform solo piano works and duos that will include voice, clarinet and flute.

    Musicology professor Joy Calico will speak before the performance (at 6:45 p.m.), and birthday cake will be served after! Come see the best and brightest Blair has to offer, and celebrate the sesquicentennial of one of our most beloved composers.


    The concert is a benefit for homeless advocacy group Room in the Inn, and there will be an art show of works by Room in the Inn residents in the lobby. Donations will be accepted, but are not required.
