VISUAL ART & MUSEUMS

Area Girl Scouts, along with museum staff, will lead children in craft activities. Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA) will provide live demonstrations.

Activities by location:

D Level of State Museum
•TACA artist Chery Cratty will demonstrate pulp-painting
•Girl Scouts will host a “Good Deed Counter” bead craft in the Museum Experience Room
•Harmonica making behind the Frontier cabin
•TACA artist Tim Hintz will demonstrate how to make hand crafted chairs in the woodworking shop
•Girl Scouts will host a clothes-pin craft in the “Age of Jackson” area

Mezzanine Level:
•Girl Scouts will demonstrate paper fortune tellers in the Kids’ Nook on the Mezzanine

B Level:
•Museum staff will demonstrate how to make weaving bracelets near Victorian Parlor
•A guest quilter will demonstrate the craft in the Quilting Gallery
•A quilting activity will be available for children at the Kids Quilting Station
•Museum staff will be operating the loom in the Quilting Gallery

Near the Stage & Changing Exhibit Galleries:
•TACA artist Paula Bowers-Hotvedt will be demonstrating weaving near the stage
•A Girl Scout, dressed as founder Juliette Gordon Low will meet-and-greet visitors near exhibit entrance
•There will be refreshment table for visitors outside the Changing Galleries
