Nashville restaurants help celebrate Goo Goo Cluster's Centennial Celebration
Presented by Goo Goo Clusters at Various Venues
October 1 - October 31, 2012
In celebration of Goo Goo Cluster’s 100th anniversary, more than 40 Nashville restaurants, food trucks, and bakeries will feature desserts inspired by the candy during the month of October. Invented in 1912, Goo Goo Cluster is the world’s first combination candy bar, combining caramel, marshmallow nougat, fresh roasted peanuts, and real milk chocolate in a unique mound shape.
Those ingredients will inspire local chefs to create desserts that honor Goo Goo Cluster. The dessert celebration is among the many events scheduled to commemorate a century of Goo Goo Cluster. Additional events will include the Goo Goo Cluster Jog ‘n Hog, a scavenger hunt, online contests, and appearances at Nashville area events. Visit www.googoo.com for a full schedule and more information.
Nashville is a city that lovingly supports local businesses, and Goo Goo Cluster has been feeling that love for a century,” said Beth Sachan, senior marketing manager for Goo Goo Cluster. “It made perfect sense to reach out to local businesses to see how creative they could be with the candy. It’s the ultimate local dessert party! Nashville residents will have more than 40 desserts to try during the month of October, which will include items like Goo Goo Cluster cupcakes, milkshakes, pie, cannoli, and cheesecake. It’s a pretty sweet birthday celebration.”
