Walk Thru Bethlehem
Presented by Woodmont Christian Church at Woodmont Christian Church
December 9, 2012
Woodmont Christian Church is hosting the 30th annual Walk Thru Bethlehem (WTB). WTB is an opportunity to witness a recreation of the hustle and bustle of daily life in the village of Bethlehem during the days leading up to the birth of Jesus.
The free one-day community event regularly draws over 6000 visitors each year from Middle Tennessee and surrounding areas.
WTB includes costumed characters, live animals (including camels and donkeys), a temple staffed with a real rabbi, and many activities that are fun for children. Children can do such activities as make and take home rag dolls, work with pottery, listen to storytelling, and sample foods.
Hundreds of volunteers from the Church take several days to transform the church into the village scene, play the role of villagers, or other support roles.
While most of the event is indoors, animals will be viewed outside. This one-day free event is a great activity to entertain children on a Sunday afternoon.
Parking is available at the church and at the Boy Scouts of America throughout the event. Visitors may also park in the nearby lot of Woodmont Baptist Church until 5:00pm. A special needs access entrance will be available.
This long-standing Nashville tradition brings to life the one who brings us life.
