Join us the third Thursday of every month for a special lunchtime lecture series. At noon, enjoy a delicious boxed lunch from Cheekwood's award winning Pineapple Room Restaurant. After lunch, stay for an interesting, interactive, and educational program on exhibit-related or seasonal topics. In this whirlwind overview, Cheekwood's assistant curator of contemporary art will discuss the history of art from Cezanne through the twentieth century. This lecture will present images of masterpieces by Picasso, Pollock, and Warhol to tell the story of modern art. The discussion will be supplemented with anecdotes about notorious and absurd events in the history of art and the lives of the artists. Join us to uncover the mysteries of modern art and learn how to answer the inevitable question, "Why is that art?" Helpful Information: Please call (615) 353-9827 to register and order a boxed lunch.
