Quidam had its world premiere in Montreal under the Big Top in April 1996 Since that time, the production has toured on five continents and been experienced by millions of people Quidam has embarked on a new journey, performing the same captivating production, but now in arenas throughout North America The international cast features 52 world-class acrobats, musicians, singers and characters

Unlike any other Cirque du Soleil show, Quidam does not take spectators to an imaginary realm of fanciful, larger-than life characters Rather, it is an examination of our own world – inhabited by real people with real-life concerns Young Zoé is bored; her parents, distant and pathetic, ignore her Her life has lost all meaning Seeking to fill the void of her existence, she slides into an imaginary world – the world of Quidam – where she meets characters who encourage her to free her soul

Quidam : a nameless passer-by, a solitary figure lingering on a street corner, a person rushing past and swallowed by the crowd It could be anyone, anybody Someone coming or going at the heart of our anonymous society A member of the crowd, one of the silent majority The one who cries out, sings and dreams within us all This is the “quidam” whom this show allows to speak This is the place that beckons—a place for dreaming and genuine relations where all quidams, by proclaiming their individuality, can finally emerge from anonymity

The Boiler Room Theatre (BRT), Williamson County’s original and longest-running professional theatre company, is excited to announce that it will stage a full production of Les Misérables with a limited run in August of 2013 The iconic musical will be presented as a special three-performance benefit for the non-profit Boiler Room Theatre from August 8th through the 10th

Quite possibly the most popular musical in the world, Les Misérables tells the story of former convict Jean Valjean and his quest for redemption while being hounded by the relentless inspector Javert in 19th century France Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, Les Misérables is epic and engrossing, with a powerful score that includes the beloved songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home” and the stirring “One Day More”

For this large-scale benefit, the Boiler Room Theatre is venturing outside of its familiar 120-seat performance space and will stage Les Misérables in the much larger Liberty Hall venue, also located at The Factory at Franklin Continuing its mission to foster and promote local talent, the entire 20+ member cast will consist of Nashville-area residents with auditions held in early March

Performances of Les Misérables will be held at 8 pm from August 8th through the 10th at Liberty Hall in The Factory at Franklin Ticket prices will range from $29 - $99 and may be purchased by calling the Boiler Room Theatre at 615-794-7744 or ordered online in 2013 at wwwboilerroomtheatrecom For information about corporate sponsorships or volunteer opportunities for Boiler Room Theatre’s benefit production of Les Misérables, contact the BRT Box Office at 615-794-7744 or info@boilerroomtheatrecom

East versus West makes for a dramatic, richly textured and ultimately uplifting tale of enormous fascination It is 1862 in Siam when an English widow, Anna Leonowens, and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, having been summoned by the King to serve as tutor to his many children and wives The King is largely considered to be a barbarian by those in the West, and he seeks Anna's assistance in changing his image, if not his ways With both keeping a firm grip on their respective traditions and values, Anna and the King grow to understand and, eventually, respect one another, in a truly unique love story Along with the dazzling score, the incomparable Jerome Robbins ballet, 'The Small House of Uncle Thomas,' is one of the all-time marvels of the musical stage

Songs, dances, and laughs abound in the unlikeliest of settings! The budding romance of Trenton and Mary is jeopardized when a flying saucer lands in Milwaukee The craft is piloted by Zombina, a buxom alien aviatrix bent on procuring he-specimens to populate her planet Can Mary uphold her lady-like demeanor while using her facile intelligence to save Milwaukee from a flying saucer invasion? Can plucky delivery boy Billy ever get secretary Charlene to notice his tap-dancing charms? Can the stalwart men of Milwaukee survive brainwashing by a musical menace from another world? This dead pan, dead on musical comedy brings the 1950’s nostalgically to life!

The Importance of Being Earnest

by Oscar Wilde

October 12–26, 2013

Previews: October 10-11
Dazzling wordplay, comic invention, sparkling dialogue, improbable plot twists, mistaken identities, and a sprinkling of romance–The Importance of Being Earnest has it all Ernest loves Gwendolyn Cecily loves Ernest What could possibly go wrong?
Double lives and double standards abound in this masterpiece of satirical wisdom where Jack and Algernon, two young men looking for escape from social obligations, pretend to be something that they are not Things start to go awry when they both practice their deceptions at Cecily’s country house at the same time and the two young ladies fear themselves rivals for the hand of one man And then there is the formidable and unforgettable Lady Bracknell…
Considered one of the funniest plays in the English Language, Oscar Wilde’s “Trivial Comedy for Serious People” skewers social customs and our obsession with keeping up appearances and social status making it no less relevant today than it was in Victorian times

From the author of the popular Faith County comes a completely different adaptation of the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol From the bonny shores of England comes a stuffy old travelling troupe embarking on their fifteenth annual farewell tour of the Dickens' tale The company diva pretends to be ill, certain the production will be cancelled However, much to her shock and rage, the show does go on without her! Roles are shuffled at the last minute and the understudy finds herself center stage Mayhem ensues as this professional company scrambles to keep the show going and everything that could possibly go wrong does…to hilarious, ridiculous results!

Nashville's Newest Holiday Tradition Celebrates its Fifth Anniversary!
Humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his unflappable campaign to get Santa (or anyone else) to give him a "legendary official Red Rider carbine-action 200 shot range-model air rifle" Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher, and even Santa Claus himself at Goldblatt's Department Store The consistent response: "You'll shoot your eye out" This irresistible piece of Americana is guaranteed to warm the heart and tickle the funny bone
"Thanks to Tennessee Repertory Theatre's wonderfully evocative production of the play, based on the iconic holiday movie, if I could possibly have another more satisfying theatre experience, I could scarcely dream it" - Jeffrey Ellis, broadwayworldcom

SORRY, WRONG CHIMNEY - a comedy by Jack Sharkey
One of the most popular holiday shows in Chaffin's 46-plus year history is Back(stage)! This lighthearted Christmas tale is full of mistaken identities, zany foul-ups and a pinch of slapstick Newlywed, David Tuttle, is moonlighting as a department store Santa so that he can buy his wife, Samantha, an expensive gift for their first Christmas He tells her he's working late at the office, but she finds out he isn't at the office and immediately suspects the worst A presumed other woman, hypnotism, the notorious Santa Burglar, his gun-toting fiancee', and a confused policeman add up to a rollicking tale that is side-splitting holiday fun
