Halloween is upon us, which means it’s time for horror movies, ghost stories, and of course, haunted attractions. Spend an October evening making your way through a haunted house, fending off zombies on a hayride, navigating your way through a haunted maze, or braving dark, wooded trails. We’ve compiled a list of some of Nashville’s spookiest haunted attractions. Enter if you dare!
Nashville Nightmare consists of a self-guided tour through an elaborate and very intense environment, full of dark passages and wandering monsters. It consists of highly detailed scenes, state of the art animations, terrifying live actors, and incredible special effects. In 2013 and 2014 Nashville Nightmare was voted in the Top 31 Haunted Houses in the Nation by Haunted Attraction Magazine, and #1 for the best Haunted Houses in Nashville by multiple media sources and Haunt enthusiasts! For the 2015 season Nashville Nightmare will open its doors once again with two separate Haunted Houses on its property, Night Terrors and Horror High, which will continue to make Nashville Nightmare the ultimate Haunted House Destination!
Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods
Experience three attractions in one spot. Just outside of Nashville, the Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods offers some of Spring Hill’s most terrifying scares including a haunted house, 10 acres of haunted trails and a haunted maze. For $5, you could catch a wagon ride on the Haunted Hayride. Creepy Hollow is not recommended for young children.
Death Yard Haunted Attractions
Death Yard is one of the top professional haunted houses in Nashville. This massive Halloween venue is located minutes north of Music City in the heart of Hendersonville. Death Yard features a professional design team, Hollywood caliber special effects & makeup team, and incredible actors. In 2015, expect more from Death Yard as it sets its sights on becoming the best of the Nashville haunted houses. Building for the 2015 haunted house season began just as the 2014 Halloween season came to a close.
Millers Thrillers- Haunted Woods, Zombie Paintball Hayride & Entertainment Zone
Millers Thrillers has quarantined a horde of infected zombies. They are growing stronger and are planning their evacuation routes to attack our whole city. Their intent is surviving and creating more of their kind. They have no emotional core and no conscience but we must put limits to their schemes. Go on a zombie paintball hayride, drift into the haunted woods or spend time in the entertainment zone, which will feature a zombie drum line and concessions!
Devil’s Dungeon Haunted Attraction
For the 15th year, the Devil himself invites everyone to enjoy the theatrical mayhem provided by the Devil’s Dungeon. All scenes have been fine-tuned or re-vamped to make Devil’s Dungeon an all new experience for both veteran and virgin ‘hauntofiles’. Scenes, including the wildly popular 3D area, have been added and expanded. The scares are gruesome, graphic and ‘in-your-face’. There aren’t standard movie characters; only characters original to Devil’s Dungeon, and more reality-based scenes of horror.
Dead Land Haunted Woods
Dead Land Haunted Woods is a family-friendly haunt in Lebanon, Tenn. with three separate attractions (The Curse, The Portal, and The Maze of Screams), each of which involves a variety of scares along a dark, wooded trail.
Death Row Sanitarium of Slaughter
Located minutes from Downtown Nashville, Death Row is one of Nashville’s longest running haunted attractions featuring over 40,000 square feet of pure terror. Death Row is under new ownership and major renovations have been made to bring you more chills and thrills as they celebrate 20 years of fear. Your self guided journey will take you through intriguing dark sets with live actors. Come experience Nashville’s past with a collection of items from old Nashville hospitals, funeral homes, prisons and cemeteries.
Enter at your own risk through the twisted grove of pines and gnarled trees. Zombies, crazy clowns, insane scientists, and evil spirits are just a few of the frightening beings that litter the dark, gloomy Trail of Terror. Take it slow and keep a watchful eye because around every turn and behind every tree could be another creature looking for another unsuspecting victim. Climb aboard the Haunted Hayride if you dare, and take a terrifying trip through the dark, eerie woods of Nashville Shores. Experience an unforgettable journey full of terror, horror and screams as you traverse the tight winding road along Percy Priest Lake! Backwoods killers, freak show clowns and werewolves are just a few of the creatures patiently waiting for the next hayride of innocent prey.
