Artsy Chicks

We are a group of creative women who gather at The World Famous Station Inn a couple of times a year for a really fun time and to show and sell our art.

Excerpt from Nashville Scene: "The bluegrass scene is notorious for its communal nature, and it’s one that extends beyond the music; every one of these “chicks” has a connection to the music’s favorite Nashville venue, from performers to spouses to relatives and beyond. But just as it’s frequently hard to tell from the results which musicians are part-time and which professional, the work of these gals is anything but amateurish. Not surprisingly, there’s a notable bent toward a rural-flavored primitivism, but there’s plenty of sophistication too in Lori Davis’s instrument paintings, Meredith Bub’s hand-painted crosses and wall hangings, Sally Wingate’s deft pottery, Julie Lee’s delicate mixed media, Lin Barber’s jewelry and all the rest. Indeed, a growing number of pieces from these artists can be found in the homes of some of Nashville’s best musicians—and once again, they’re setting a trend that it would be smart and rewarding to follow.
