Belle Meade Plantation is a 30 acre historic site 6 miles west of Nashville. The centerpiece of the property is the Belle Meade mansion built in 1853. Belle Meade Plantation was founded in 1807 by John Harding. What started as a log cabin and 250 acres grew into a beautiful Greek Revival Mansion and one of the largest private estates in Nashville covering over 5400 acres.

Since Belle Meade Plantation was at the center of the horse industry in the South, that meant it was also the epicenter of society and social events. The Plantation hosted many events where hundreds of people were on the property to be wined, dined and entertained…and it is that grand tradition that we welcome guests today.

Included in your admission is a free wine tasting after your guided tour is complete. The traditional Southern grape, the muscadine, and the ever-popular Southern fruit, the Blackberry, continue a 200-year tradition of becoming wine. A full complement of Tennessee Reds and Whites are also available.

When you arrive, come to the Ticket Booth located inside the Visitors Center where you may purchase your ticket for the next available tour. Guided tours last approximately 45 minutes, wine tastings last approximately 20 minutes. We suggest a minimum of 2 hours on site.

Discounted rates are available for groups of 15 or more. Reservations are required. Please find further information under our Group Sales section.
