    On December 17, 1962 Public Radio in Nashville began with broadcasts from studios in the Richland Park branch of the Nashville Public Library. Designated WPLN-FM, the station is licensed to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County as a unit of the Public Library.
