The Nashville Shakespeare Festival
The mission of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival is to educate and entertain the Mid-South community through professional Shakespearean experiences. A non-profit organization, The Festival accomplishes this goal through public performances and educational workshops for young people and businesses. The Festival employs the most talented theatre artists from around Nashville to help create unique and relevant productions and programs that stimulate the creative thinking and communication skills of everyone from business men and women to children throughout Middle Tennessee.
Since 1988 The Festival has produced its annual free Shakespeare in the Park every summer in Centennial Park. Since 1992, The Festival has offered year-round outreach to schools and the community through in-classroom workshops, experiences for young actors, and performances for students. In January 2008, The Festival launched its annual Winter Shakespeare production, offering both public performances and student matinees at Troutt Theater. In 2008, The Festival also launched its Business Workshops which bring a Shakespearean perspective and approach to business and management.

Event Name: Shakespeare in the Park: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
"Complete Works (Abridged) completely disappointing"
Review posted by: pianodiva from Nashville, TN, Aug 30, 2009
The cast's enthusiasm and pop culture references weren't enough to make up for the fact that most of the humor was crude at best. The production may have improved after the first 20 minutes-- my... Expand

"Let the donor beware!"

Undoubtedly talented actors saddled with a script lacking in part in the wit and brilliance of Shakespeare. While the segment on Hamlet was excellent with rare exception, there are many elements of... Expand
