Legendary Nashville radio icon WSM is commonly acknowledged as the most important radio station in history with regard to Country and American roots music and the station that turned Nashville into Music City. WSM’s long history of quality live programming, most famously the Grand Ole Opry since 1925, includes being known as the place where bluegrass was born.

WSM currently operates out of the former Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl museums adjacent to the Grand Ole Opry House. The studio itself is located within the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, and visitors to the hotel may look into the studio 24 hours a day, provided the curtains are open, which they usually are.

      This was my first 5K ever and probably my last for this event; It was canceled at the last minute and then moved twice; Arriving at Opryland we had no idea where to go and it took us almost 20 minutes... Expand

      This was my first 5K ever and probably my last for this event; It was canceled at the last minute and then moved twice; Arriving at Opryland we had no idea where to go and it took us almost 20 minutes just to find registration; It's been 5 days after the race, results were supposed to be posted yesterday, and are still no where to be found. Other than the run being fun there isn't much good to say about this event. Collapse

      The April 21 Music City Roots concert is a benefit for The Nature Conservancy. Every penny of your $10 admission goes to preserve lush forests, world-reknown caves, and clean water. This show also marks the official launch of "Generation Conservation" (Gen C), a young professionals group for folks in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who love the outdoors and want to learn more about conserving natural resources. Interested parties can join The Nature Conservancy and Gen C for just $10 at the show (regular rate is $25 annually). This will get you invitations to upcoming Gen C events, a quarterly international magazine, and quarterly Tennessee newsletter.
