Cultural Experience Directory Guidelines
Thanks for preparing to submit your event to the Cultural Experience Directory for Student Ticket Subsidy on NowPlayingNashville.com!

Student Ticket Subsidy is funded by the Tennessee General Assembly and administered in cooperation with the Tennessee Arts commission and Designated Agencies throughout Tennessee.
Please read our submission guidelines and instructions:
Student Ticket Subsidy Funds are available to public school students attending age-appropriate arts and cultural events/programs. Schools or organizations wishing to hire artists select and contact artists on their own based on information provided in the roster. All programming must take place during normal school days and hours.
Artists and arts organizations must provide performances, demonstrations, storytelling, or visual arts exhibits offered as field trips or in-school programs and mail student Preparation materials to teachers prior to the events. We will accept applications from artists in the following areas: Craft Arts, Dance, Folk Arts, Galleries, Literature, Music, Musical Theatre/Opera, Storytelling, Theatre, Visual Arts. An audition may be requested to determine the quality and appropriateness of the proposed performances, activities, or programs.
Receipts: Schools are required to make reservations directly with you and then apply for student ticket subsidy funds. The schools may or may not be in a position to make deposits prior to receiving notification about whether or not funds will be available to help them attend the event. All schools must receive a confirmation receipt with a reservation number from each art venue/artist they plan to use. This receipt will help us keep track of actual reservations so we can more fairly distribute these ticket subsidy funds.
This receipt should show:
- Reservation number
- School name and contact person
- Number of students participating
- Name and date of the performance/event and the ticket price
We know we count on your cooperation with this confirmation receipt policy.
Preparatory Materials: Each artist or arts organization must submit a copy of the current preparatory materials you plan to provide teachers. All participants must submit these materials. Guidelines for how to create educational materials may be accessed through this link CLICK HERE.
Delivery Method: Per the guidelines from the Tennessee Arts Commission designated agencies will begin accepting applications at 7:00am on September 15.
