Cumberland County Playhouse

The Cumberland County Playhouse is now the only major non-profit professional performing arts resource in rural Tennessee, and one of the 10 largest professional theaters in rural America. It serves more than 165,000 visitors annually with two indoor and two outdoor states, young audience productions, a comprehensive dance program, a concert series and touring shows.

      Driving Miss Daisy Cumberland County Playhouse Driving Miss Daisy Presented by Cumberland County Playhouse at Cumberland County Playhouse January 21-April 14, 2012 The Pulitzer Prize winning play tells the great story of Daisy Werthan, a 72 year-old Jewish widow in Atlanta, and her African-American chauffeur Hoke Coleburn. What begins as a prickly pairing eventually blossoms into a profound, life-altering friendship that spans 25 years and transcends the boundaries between them. With its sparkling humor, honesty and dignity, this quietly powerful American classic has touched the hearts of millions.
