For my husband’s birthday recently, we and two friends went to The Escape Game Nashville to complete Mission: Mars. Being that we had never done an Escape Game, we didn’t know what to expect. We picked a pretty advanced, but overall exciting, game. It ranked 8/10 on the difficulty scale. Even though we failed our one-hour mission, I walked out with some tips that I feel can help you avoid failure should you choose to take on Mission: Mars Escape Game.
Below is the video used at the beginning of the game. I promise I’m not giving anything away. Watch the Video and then read the 15 Tips to Avoid Failure in Mission: Mars Escape Game Nashville.
1 – Pick your friends wisely. We had a small intimate group of four, but think if we had a few more hands/brains they could have been used to our advantage.
2 – Seriously, bring one ringer to the Escape Game. You know that friend who knows it all – all those weird random facts and tricks will come in handy!
3 – Don’t think that raising your hands for clues gives you extra time. It only adds time to your end score. Yeah total surreal moment for me.
4 – The hints come automatically across the screen from your control room. Don’t use all of your three FREE ones in the first 20 minutes.
5 – Move fast, really fast to figure out the clues. Before you know it, 20 minutes will have passed and then you’re at 45 minutes running around like a chicken with your head cut off.
ABOUT MISSION: MARS
You’ve just landed on the red planet for an exploratory mission, but your spacecraft experienced some major damage on the descent. Unfortunately, there is a larger problem at hand: a fatal amount of cosmic radiation is heading towards Mars, which will cause serious damage to the control systems, making it impossible to get back home. You have exactly 60 minutes to repair your ship and launch if you ever want to see Earth again. Godspeed.
6 – You have three VERY IMPORTANT TASKS to repair your ship and get back to Earth – Oxygen, Communication and Power. It’s life or death – not seriously, but seriously. We completed Oxygen and Power. We were working on Communication in the last five minutes, when we failed.
7 – Be prepared for unexpected challenges. So have your mind clear and ready.
8 – Be patient with yourself and try not to get overwhelmed. One room has lots of bells and whistles that can easily distract you.
9 – Keep your mind on the task at hand. Everyone should work together on completing each task. It’s true teamwork.
10 – Think outside the box. There are hints and puzzles everywhere in the room to help you find and solve clues.
11 – The clues are intertwined. Use your matching and de-coding skills.
12 – Don’t press all buttons you find. Not all buttons are good buttons. So be cautious!
13 – Put on the space suit. There are two, so convince one of your other friends to join in on the fun … plus you can say you wore a “space suit”! (not really a true space suit, but it’s just cool to wear during the whole game.)
14 – Have fun with this experience. It’s so worth it!
15 – After you finish, sign up for your next game! When you finish, you will get a sticker and your picture made in front of The Escape Game Nashville sign. I would encourage you to sign up for another one on-site or you can always book online through us whenever you are ready.
Even though we ALMOST escaped Mission: Mars, we are determined to escape another one. We have already invited more friends and are planning to do The Heist next.
