Brittany Burns

Harpist Brittany Hicken Burns spent the last six years studying and performing music in New York City. In 2011, she performed the Ginastera Harp Concerto with the Manhattan School of Music Philharmonia Orchestra after winning first place in the Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition. She was also featured in Debussy’s Danses Sacree et Profane with the Riverside Orchestra. She has performed as an orchestral musician in many New York-based orchestras and opera companies, including Tactus, Philharmonia New York, and Project Opera of Manhattan under the direction of renowned conductors, including Kurt Masur, Phillipe Entremont, John Nelson, Paul Gemignani and George Manahan. She has performed in a variety of venues from Carnegie Hall to the lawns of Central Park. In 2013, she received the Master of Music in Orchestral Performance from Manhattan School of Music as a recipient of the Baisley Powell Elebash Scholarship. She received her Bachelor of Music from the same institution in 2011 under the tutelage of Susan Jolles of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
