Colleen Phelps

Colleen Phelps is a musician in Nashville, TN. She recently completed her Master's Degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she previously earned Bachelor of Music degrees in Percussion Performance and Music Education. In Ohio she served as Minister of Music at North Bend United Methodist Church, and was the choirmaster for CCM's spring MainStage opera production. An Orff-Schulwerk certified teacher, Colleen has led the music program at the Reformed Church Nursery School in Bronxville, New York where she led the students in choral performances, facilitated a musical theater enrichment program, and created the Bash Your Trash program, where students built their own musical instruments. ? Colleen is an active percussionist and singer. During her undergraduate work at CCM she won the Clara M. Baur Instrumental Music Performance competition, and was an sought after recitalist in the Cincinnati area. She continues to perform as a soloist – including her own works.
