Connye Florance

I am perhaps most widely known for engaging performances of "deliciously smooth jazz vocals," in addition to theatrical performances of my one-woman show, Jazz Rhapsody Career accolades include being chosen as Jazz Discovery's "Vocalist of the Year" in 2000, just after my first cd release, Turn My Heart, won a Nashville Grammy (Nammy) nomination for Album of the Year. As an instructor, I serve on the vocal faculty at Nashville Jazz Workshop; and as teaching artist for TPAC Education. I also serve as vocal jazz camp co-director and as board member to NJW. In 2013, I was honored to receive their "Heritage Award" for excellence in continuing the legacy of jazz. In addition to jazz performances and lectures, I also offer private coaching to vocalists seeking to strengthen their performing and vocal expression skills. I enjoy working with students of all ages. My performances and recordings have gained international attention from jazz fans and adult contemporary listeners alike and delighted countless audiences – from nightclub and theater performances on and off Broadway -to headline and featured appearances at area jazz festivals and venues.
