Ed Haggard

Ed Haggard is a percussionist, drumming teacher, drum circle facilitator who loves to play! Ed leads a performing percussion ensemble called, The Love Drums which has instilled the irresistible urge to dance in many people. They have played at many venues including Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Nashville Zoo, Martha O’Brien Center, St Luke’s, Tennessee Summer Solstice Festival, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Nashville Art Crawl, Celebration of Cultures. They do “positive” music and spread the love. Ed and The Love Drums are inspired by drumming traditions from around the world, especially west Africa. The Love Drums has a CD available called The Love Drums available at CD Baby and iTunes!

Teaching is a large part of Haggard’s work. He has taught over 4000 drum classes and workshops. He is a trained professional drum circle facilitator and he’s facilitated many drum circles for corporate and community groups such as: Alouette Cheese, Healthways at Oasis Center, Global Education Center, Vanderbilt University, David Lipscomb University, and various churches in Tennessee. He is a percussionist in a kirtan band called Samavayah. Ed has accompanied a bunch of singer songwriters. Ed has been the Theme Camp Organizer of Rhythm Paradise at the regional burns, Transformus and Alchemy. He delights in spreading the joy of getting a groove on.  Ed was the Nashville Poetry Slam Champ of Nashville for three years in the early nineties.
